At a brief meeting this afternoon we formally approved our constitution and became an official group! So today, in a sense SEETransition was truly born! While the paper side of things is definitely not the be all and end all, it allows us to do all sorts of things like registering with the Transition Network and getting a bank account: important for getting practical things done.
On the morning of Saturday 10 November a number of us gathered in Ferniehill Park to do some clearing and planting in the Wildflower corner. We picked up some litter and leftovers from fireworks night, and planted wildflower plugs including Evening Primrose, Alpine Strawberries, and Self Heal along with some bulbs. We'll look forward to going back in the spring to see the results! Mike Shields of City of Edinburgh Council kindly loaned us tools for the work, and the weather couldn't have been better (for November): bright clear and not too windy. We'd got all the work done in an hour and a half, and left feeling very productive. |
